The Embassy of Japan is seeking a local staff for its Political Section and Economic Section.
 
  1. Start Date: The beginning of August 2024.
 
  1. Number of Positions: One
 
  1. Job Description:
  • Monitor, investigate, and prepare reports on Turkey’s domestic, foreign, security and economic policies.
  • Provide briefings to the Ambassador, Minister and the diplomats of the Political Section and Economic Section on issues related to Turkey’s policies.
  • Schedule appointments for diplomats of the Political Section and Economic Section.
  • Perform secretarial duties for the Political Section and Economic Section as needed.
  • Participate in receptions and similar events organized by the Embassy.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Embassy.
 
  1. Candidate Requirements:
  • Education: Minimum of a University degree.
  • Languages: Native level ability of English (Fluent in English with proficiency sufficient to grasp and convey nuances in interactions with international institutions.) Knowledge of Japanese is not mandatory but is an advantage.
  • Having sufficient knowledge about Turkish policy on global/multilateral issues such as environmental policies and energy policies.
  • Competent in Turkish communication.
  • Working experience in the international institutions and embassies is not mandatory but is an advantage.
  • Computer Skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Having a wide range of knowledge about Turkish culture, politics, economy and foreign policy etc.
  • Other:
  • No travel restrictions within Turkey (short-term stays across all regions may be required).
  • Willingness to reside in Ankara if selected.
  • Male candidates must have completed military service.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact harmoniously with Embassy staff.
  • No serious health issues.
  • No criminal history and not undergoing any legal proceedings at the start date.
 
5.     Working Conditions:
  • Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 – 17:30. Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Holidays: Saturdays, Sundays, and other days as designated by the Embassy of Japan.
  • Salary: To be determined by the Embassy.
