Ertuğrul Firkateyni'ndeki eser ve kalıntıların çıkartılması için 2007'de Bodrum Sualtı Arkeolojisi Enstitüsü (INA)'nın Eski Başkanı Tufan Turanlı önderliğinde bir proje başlatılmış ve 2010 yılına kadar süren çalışmalarda çıkartılan eser ve kalıntılardan 6 bin tanesi Türkiye'ye gönderilmiştir. Bu sergi aracılığıyla, Ertuğrul Firkateyni'nin arkasında yatan tarihsel gerçekler daha iyi anlaşılacak ve Türk – Japon dostluk ilişkilerinin başlangıcına ait hatıraların gün ışığına çıkartılması sayesinde dostluk ilişkileri daha da derinleşecektir.

In order to raise the artifacts and ruins of the Ertugrul Frigate, the Institute of Nautical Archaeology (INA) in Bodrum started a project under the leadership of INA's Head in 2007 and 6 thousand artifacts that were raised in this study were sent to Turkey. Through this exhibition, historical background of the Ertugrul Frigate will better be understood and by taking the memories that belong to the start up of the Turkish – Japanese relations out into daylight, the friendship will further strengthen.
